Information we collect

We collect information you provide when you purchase or schedule a lesson, create an account, submit lesson forms, use the student or forum areas, or contact us. This may include your name, email address, phone number, billing address, order and lesson history, USHPA membership number and expiration date, waiver and checklist acknowledgments, and content you choose to post.

Our website may also collect technical information needed to operate securely, such as your IP address, browser information, login activity, and essential cookie data.

How we use information

We use this information to process purchases, schedule and administer lessons, maintain student records, verify eligibility and USHPA status, provide account and forum access, send service and membership reminders, respond to questions, prevent fraud, and meet safety, insurance, accounting, and legal obligations.

Payments

Payments are processed by PayPal and its payment partners. NorCal Hang Gliding does not store your full credit card number. PayPal handles payment information under its own privacy policy.

How information is shared

We share information only as reasonably necessary with providers that help operate the website, email, scheduling, recordkeeping, and payments; with USHPA or park authorities when needed for membership, eligibility, instruction, or safety; or when required by law.

We will not sell or use your private data for any other reason.

Cookies and embedded content

The site uses essential cookies for the shopping cart, checkout, login, security, and saved account preferences. Pages may include embedded content such as videos. Those services may collect data or set cookies under their own privacy policies.

Public forums and uploads

Forum posts, profile details, and other information you choose to make public may be visible to other visitors. Do not post sensitive personal information. If you upload images, remove embedded location data if you do not want it shared.

How long we retain information

We retain records only as long as reasonably needed to provide lessons and accounts and to satisfy safety, insurance, tax, accounting, legal, and dispute-resolution requirements. Forum content and related metadata may remain available unless removal is requested and we are permitted to remove it.

You may ask to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you. Some records may need to be retained for administrative, safety, legal, or security purposes. You may also update information available in your account.
